Okay, here 'tis. I've made a few adjustments since I took the photo, so it hangs a bit straighter now. The pieces are connected by safety pins and silver chain at the moment, but that may change if/when I think of something else. Making this was so much fun, and has also given me a few ideas for some more pieces in the future.
Sorry some of the photos are a bit on the dark side. It's not that dark in real life!

Excellent! You put me to shame, I'm still thinking about the best approach to my idea.
Don't change too much about it, it looks wonderful!
hugz,
Looks really cool! Thanks for sharing your process and thoughts. Aren't hardware stores simply the best? My family won't go near them with me, because I look at Everything. You never know what you'll see and maybe need later on...LOL
I really like this! I especially like the chain and safety pin connections. I love how the pieces are all similar but different. Very cool.
This is amazing - it's so difficult to get this technique of hanging different pieces tofether to work. I really love your interpretation of the theme as well as the detail in the individual pieces. Some people think I'm mad when I say quilts take on a life of their own, but they do don't they?
OMG Kat that is fantastic. You should feel sooo proud. It looks lovely, it is so original and creative too. I would never have though of the hardware store.

I love the way you interpreted the theme, and your color choices. And your use of hardward items really makes it interesting. I've recently discovered how fun washers can be, guess I'll have to do some further exploring--
Oh, Cat! These are wonderful pieces! I'm very impressed with your creativity!
Cat, these are very cool! loved to check up on your blog-and your challenge sound fun-enjoy!
These are great little works of art. You are an inspiration to us.
